I took this at home in my back garden. I've included this as it's not often we have sunsets as dramatic as this.

This is a close up of a flower taken during the 2005 Lake District NASRA expedition. The fly kind of ruined it a bit, unfortunately I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures on my computer.

Managed to snap this, handheld this with D70 with my Sigma 105mm macro lens. Click here for the original sized picture. It's quite horrible really, but also kind of cool.

I found myself with some time to waste so I started taking pictures of Baxter, our pet dog. I took a whole load of pictures, but probably this one was the best. It's certainly very different to the pictures I normally take, and actually I was fairly pleased with the result. The only thing that I thought ruined the picture was the multicoloured rope toy in the backround (under his chin). It looks like it might be ever so slightly underexposed. For those that are interested I took this picture with a Sigma 105mm lens with my Nikon D70. The camera was placed right at ground level on the grass, which is something I've not tried before, but it's certainly something I'll experiment with again.

A macro photo of a daisy in the garden. I used a 105mm Sigma macro lens.

Another garden themed photo, this time of a rose in bud. I liked the colours.

This was a lucky shot of a water sprinkler. The sunlight was backlighting the water droplets to give an almost firework like quality.

Believe it or not this photo is of water droplets. I used a 105mm lens, with the low evenening sunlight lighting the droplets from behind. It's kind of abstract, but I kind of like the effect.

A closeup macro photo of a high intensity white LED (Light Emitting Diode). Don't ask me why I took it, all I can say in my defence is that it seemed like a good idea at the time!

I was trying out my new toy (a Nikon D80). Lets just say I'm very impressed! It is certainly a big improvement on my old D70, the response times are so much fast and the autofocus is again much better, although the really obvious thing I've noticed is that the colours are much more vibrant than what I get out of my D70. This was taken with the Nikkor 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 G IF ED hand-held. For those that want to know shot was taken at 1/125 sec f/5.6 with a focal length of 95mm.

This was another quick test for my Nikon D80 and my 70-300mm VR lens. The shot was taken at ISO 200, at a focal length of 300mm, hand held using the VR function. Here is the same photo but as a 100% crop. I'm very surprised at the results.

This shot is of a Peakcock butterfly soacking up some sun on my garden fence. Again I used my Nikon 70-300mm VR lens with my D80 (at ISO 125, f/5.6, 1/640 sec. Here is the same photo but as a 100% crop.
